The Top-10 Fictional Languages that You Can Learn

Article by: Witney Seibold

Nothing can make a race of space aliens seem more genuine than well-thought-out and carefully constructed fake language. You can dress them in exotic outfits, paint human actors with pounds of makeup, or merely animate imaginary creatures, but that won’t make the aliens’ culture seem real in any capacity. When they break out with an exotic tongue, though, you know a lot of thought was put into it.

I have always had an interest in languages (I look many years of Latin in school), so my ears always perk up when I hear someone speaking in an imagined language on screen or stage. I am also drawn to a few cryptographic mysteries that have appeared in print over the years. Naturally, it was only a matter of time before I compiled a list of such things for the good people at Geekscape.

The link below leads to a list which was assembled in that spirit. I humbly present the top ten fictional languages from media. To give it some distinction, I selected languages that can actually be studied and learned. Read all about them, enjoy, and be sure to leave comments, either here, on the Geekscape website, or elsewhere.
