Here is a film about a lonely septuagenarian (Michael Caine) who is so outraged by the skyrocketing gang crime in his once-placid neighborhood, that he buys a gun and takes matters into his own hands. The presence of Caine would almost make one believe that this is a rollicking, action-packed revenge fantasy. However, those of you expecting an ass-kicking, superhero vigilante movie will be disappointed – or perhaps elated – to find that Daniel Barber‘s film “Harry Brown” is actually a gray-shaded, downbeat, and almost depressing view of a society in entropy.
